Jan Fennell
Jan Fennell is the author of several best selling books including ‘The Dog Listener’ and ‘The Seven Ages of Your Dog’. She is an internationally renowned Dog Listener and has earned the respect of many dog owners and professionals.
Through her books and TV shows she has shared her discovery of Amichien® Bonding with her readers and viewers, and allowed them to begin to see the world through their dog’s eyes, showing them that by using Amichien® Bonding they can gain the trust of their dog and its willing cooperation. Using this method dog owners are able to eliminate undesirable behaviour without resorting to using expensive gadgets or confrontational techniques.
Jan’s passion for dogs led her to question the traditional obedience training methods that she had always used – she recognised that traditional training methods enforce the will of humans onto a dog, rather then the dog choosing to follow the actions of the human.
After seeing Monty Roberts, writer of ‘The Man Who Listens to Horses’, in action Jan knew that his humane method could also be used to communicate with dogs and so embarked on a journey of discovery. Extensive and ongoing study into wolves, coyotes, dingoes and wild dogs in their natural habitats allowed Jan to observe pack dynamics in action, and learn how this related to dogs in a domesticated situation. From her studies Jan developed Amichien® Bonding.
Jan still carries out one to one consultations with clients, but her main focus is spreading the word of Amichien® Bonding. She now travels around the world speaking about Amichien® Bonding and conducting courses to train Dog Listeners worldwide. She has written five books and produced a wide selection of DVDs and CDs – further information and purchases can be made at www.janfennellthedoglistener.com
